What is Asocks?

asocks-vs-oxylabs-1

ASocks is a proxy service provider that offers dynamic and static proxy solutions, featuring over 9 million IP addresses spanning more than 190 global locations. Its most impactful attribute is unified pricing, which applies the same rate for residential and mobile proxies – $3 per 1GB.

To my mind, Asocks has it all:

  • HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols support

I personally use Asocks proxy services for secure browsing, social media automation, ad verification, and market research. And I love its flexible, usage-based billing model that allows me to access the entire pool of IP addresses, with charges determined by the actual volume of data used.

Types of Proxies & Their Features

While both providers supply residential and mobile proxies with broad international reach, they differ in substance.

By contrast, Oxylabs proxy types spectrum is broader and complemented by advanced features for enterprise-level applications and large-scale operations.

Which one is better in proxies?

I don’t want to sound like Captain Obvious, yet selecting between these two does depend on your specific requirements, operational scale, and budget considerations.

But if you ask me – a seasoned expert in professionally using proxy servers for more than a decade so far, as well as testing and analyzing them for ProxyBros – I always thoroughly assess the goal I strive to achieve with proxies and… opt for the smaller provider (Asocks proxy in this case), and here’s why.

The more proxy types/features/extras a provider includes in its offers, the less considerate its focus on quality usually becomes.

The bigger a provider, the more it invests in marketing and its brand, and all that ultimately results in higher prices which unlikely have anything to do with the product itself.

So, why on earth shall I pay for anything beyond proxies if I know what I need and why I need it for?

In my experience, smaller proxy providers focus more on their services’ quality, and quality services are all I need, in fact, as a customer. It’s not that bigger companies neglect their very first duty, yet the price for their services usually includes something more than just for the proxy I require.

Therefore, yes, Oxylabs proxy offers contain more types and features, yet if I need residential or mobile servers – I resort to Asocks proxy.

Which one is better in extras?

Well… I guess the answer is obvious this time, isn’t it? Yes, in the ‘Oxylabs vs. Asocks’ battle, when it comes to extra tools, Oxylabs wins. It does provide multiple additional solutions, so if you need any of those I mentioned above, please don’t hesitate.

But the thing is… well, most often, such extras are handy for enterprise-scale projects. Consequently, they usually come at enterprise-scale prices, especially if they’re developed by such industry giants as Oxylabs.

And that is another reason I’m looking forward to the new extras Asocks is now working on – I still hope they’re doing it with customer needs in mind in the first place.

Cases of Use

asocks-vs-oxylabs-3

Here, they’re just different, you know.

ASocks specializes in delivering cost-effective and adaptable proxy solutions advantageous for smaller businesses and individual users. Their main applications include ad verification, price monitoring, market analysis, and managing social media activities. I personally use their dependable proxies for everyday operations and do so due to overall simplicity, security, and anonymity.

Oxylabs, in contrast, accommodates extensive data collection and enterprise-scale operations. Their proxy offerings cover web scraping, brand monitoring, SEO tracking, and travel fare aggregation, while a range of their Scraper APIs serves well for durable and scalable data acquisition solutions.

Which one performs better?

Of course, performance can vary significantly based on geographic location, network conditions, and the specific servers used during testing. I invite you to learn more details about my examination procedures in comprehensive reviews of Oxylabs vs Asocks.

However, in this case, it’s hard for me to choose the best proxy server provider because both of them performed pretty well. I haven’t noticed any impactful effects of those slight benchmark differences you can see in the chart above. So, I’ll just be honest and will leave it up to you.

Customer Base and Reviews

Asocks

asocks-vs-oxylabs-4asocks-vs-oxylabs-5

ASocks serves a large user base, claiming over 100,000 satisfied clients. I found out that users frequently highlight ASocks proxy speed as a significant advantage, with many commending the platform’s intuitive and user-friendly dashboard. The responsive customer support team is also well-regarded for its helpfulness.

Rated #1 by customers on G2 – with 127 reviews composing the overall rating of 4.9 out of 5 – Asocks does pride the reputation of Trusted. Its successful tests of mine on various platforms, including Amazon, Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and Craigslist, demonstrate its capability to navigate strict websites that typically block proxies.

ASocks serves multiple industries, providing valuable solutions for marketing, sales, and finance.

However, some users have noted areas for improvement. Those include the need for more diverse payment options and the relatively smaller IP pool.

Oxylabs

asocks-vs-oxylabs-6asocks-vs-oxylabs-7

To be honest, I highly appreciate proxy providers with a strong presence on social media, and Oxylabs has over 20,000 followers on LinkedIn.

In most reviews on G2, I found that the customers praise them mostly for the extensive IP pool, reliability, high uptime, and ethical sourcing of proxies, presenting Oxylabs with an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5. My special thanks, though, go for its thorough documentation and resources for individual users and dedicated account managers for businesses.

In terms of trust and compliance, Oxylabs is a member of reputable cybersecurity organizations – Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), ISSA, and ECSO. It is also a founding member of the Ethical Web Data Collection Initiative (EWDCI) and is covered by Technology Errors & Omissions and Cyber Insurance.

Just recently, I also learned that Oxylabs regularly publishes Impact Reports that outline its sustainability goals and efforts to offset emissions, reflecting a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Oxylabs serves multiple industries, providing valuable solutions for cybersecurity, e-commerce, and digital marketing.

Speaking of drawbacks, I must warn that if you’re unfamiliar with proxy services, the extensive array of options and customization features at Oxylabs can seem discouraging. I’d even recommend they simplify the onboarding experience and offer more beginner-friendly guides and tutorials to make the learning curve less steep.

Whose reputation is better?

Although the industry regalia I mentioned above about Oxylabs do contribute to its well-established reputation, when it comes to customer feedback, in the ‘Oxylabs vs Asocks’ battle, the latter wins. And if we remember that user reviews may probably be one of the most crucial criteria when choosing the best proxy provider…

Honestly, by virtue of my profession, I’ve read SO many chiseled and polished descriptions of products/services, so many times did I get burned chasing cheapness that I’m afraid I’m no longer exposed to all those marketing stunts. The most significant thing probably that truly affects my decisions now is customer reviews.

Said and done. Asocks. 4.9 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Pick it up. Right away!

Pricing Plans

Asocks

asocks-vs-oxylabs-8

ASocks adopts a pay-as-you-go pricing strategy, charging one cost of $3 per 1GB of traffic across both residential and mobile proxy types. I must say this pricing parity is pretty uncommon in the industry, where mobile proxies typically command higher rates.

I haven’t found any apparent minimum purchase requirements, nor did I manage to find out the Asocks trial specifics like duration or data limits. But I did learn that pricing for larger volumes (say, 500GB at $1,000) suggests a special discount. And, in general, ASocks offers enterprise solutions, potentially involving customized pricing for extensive usage scenarios.

Oxylabs

asocks-vs-oxylabs-9

All Oxylabs pricing plans entail automatic proxy rotation, HTTP(S)/SOCKS5 protocols support, free geo-targeting, and unlimited concurrent sessions. Minimum costs start at…

  • Residential – $8 (Pay-as-you-go)

  • Datacenter – $50/month

  • Mobile – $9/GB

  • ISP – $21/month

  • Web Unblocker – $75/month

  • Scraper APIs – $49/month.

For quick traffic boosts, Oxylabs provides options to add extra data via their dashboard. They also suggest plan upgrades for long-term efficiency, accommodating us with consistent high-traffic needs. Plans are inferred to renew monthly, reflecting all those discussions about traffic depletion before the end of each billing cycle.

Oxylabs free trial is available for mobile and ISP proxy servers, Web Unblocker, and Scraper APIs (limited free requests per month, though.)

Which one is cheaper?

Asocks :)

No, seriously, I haven’t found cheaper proxy servers on the market. I haven’t encountered such simplicity and transparency in charging, either. Just imagine that you…

Pay ONE price → Get TWO types of proxies → Delve into TENS of use cases!

So, which one is right for you?
