LunaProxy Review

Overview

I chose Luna-Proxy for my next testing and review cause rather than offering dedicated proxies, static proxies, or specific IP lists, they provide free access to their global IP pool. I mean, Luna Proxy uses proxy addresses (endpoints) instead of individual IPs, ensuring automatic IP rotation without requiring us to manually change them. They suggest us to select the endpoint for the desired country or city and configure it as a regular proxy in our application or operating system. Well, said & done! 

I bought some Lunar IPs – no discount code, unfortunately – and got them immediately (cause I didn’t use a virtual currency, and if you will – you might have to wait for your proxies for about 30-60 minutes). I spent days testing them far and wide, and I’m now ready to provide you with my thorough review. 

But, jumping ahead, I must say I rarely encounter a company that makes switching virtual locations to reach the content I need SO EASY. I’m not quite sure what exactly helps them with that, be it low latency or high traffic support. Low latency means minimum data transmission delays, ideal if you require real-time data (I tested it through video streaming and ad bidding). I’m not that into static datacenter proxies (and we all know why!), but even they thrived here when it came to high traffic volumes. 

So, if I were to keep it short, I’d say that Luna Proxy Services definitely deserves your attention. But I’m not limited in self-expression – thanks to ProxyBros, SUPER-meticulous in what they do – therefore, I’ll be glad to share my impressions in more detail. 

Feature-Set and Guidance

Diverse Proxy Types

First and foremost, you need to know that this provider offers Luna Proxy free services; their free proxy list is updated every 30 minutes. Free proxies might be OK for simple web surfing incognito, yet if your endeavors are more serious, here’s what you should consider:

Use Cases: Web scraping, SEO operations, Social Media automation, Luna Proxy unblock of geo-restricted content, Data collection, Ad verification, E-commerce, and Market research.

IP Whitelisting

This thing lets you specify a list of trusted IP addresses that can access and use your residential proxies, thus eliminating the need for user & pass authentication.

To add a new IP to the whitelist, I first went to Luna login, then headed to the relevant section of my Luna account, clicked on ‘IP Allowed List’ in the left navigation, entered my local IP address in the input box, and then clicked ‘Add’. Went off!

However, if you are using other proxy tools, be sure to remove any newly added IPs from the whitelist once your work is done. That way, you’ll avoid the risk of these tools consuming your traffic.

Affiliate Program

You can earn a 3% high return straight on the first successful purchase, with no limit on the number of packages. The more your referrals recharge, the higher your commission, and again – with no upper limit on orders! 

Later on, you’ll be able to enjoy up to 10% commission from referred clients for as long as they use Luna-proxy services. New users who register via your referral link and activate a package will trigger automatic commission credits. These funds will be available for immediate withdrawal once the transaction is complete.

Extra Tools & Add-ons

• Proxy Manager

This is a super-handy thing! It provides region-specific targeting support and API definitions. You’ll also be able to switch IPs anytime and configure proxy timeliness. Moreover, once you get your Luna Proxy download, you receive automatic storage of proxy configurations and benefit from synchronization of configuration information across your different devices. 

It was as easy for me to start using as the company instructs, actually. I clicked on ‘Free Application’ to obtain a Luna proxy free server. Then, chose ‘Add Channel’ -> ‘Proxy Configuration’ -> ‘Edit Configuration File to create or edit my proxy settings. After completing the configuration, I could extract the settings with just one click! Highly recommended!

• Free IP Lookup

Altogether, I love the best proxy providers that care about their customers. In particular, such care may take on the form of free tools, and as soon as you Luna log in – you realize they do care in many senses! 

Lunar IPs Lookup tool provides detailed information about any IP address, including the city, state, zip code, country, ISP, time zone, and even IP address type.

Moreover, with it, you can check the devices connected to your network or verify the IP address of a specific device. You can also detect any suspicious activity by verifying an IP address. And last yet not least, with IP Lookup, you’ll be able to discover the ISP and hostname associated with an IP address for an additional layer of security.

• Chrome Extension

As soon as I see free browser extensions, I download them, always. I’ve long been aware they eliminate the trouble of fiddling with browser settings or constantly adjusting proxy configurations in an operating system. And LunaProxy Chrome Extension was not an exception when it came to benefits: It enabled me to seamlessly integrate essential proxy features into my Chrome browser.

It is entirely free and compatible with any proxy provider. It very much facilitates the whole process of enabling a proxy without diving into complex settings. To make the long story short, here’s a quick Luna Proxy review of its add-on’s key features:

How to Use Luna Proxy

With a coupon or without it, you can acquire Luna proxy services in two ways: directly through the Dashboard on their website or by downloading their application (Luna apk) for easier access. In the Dashboard, you can view the details of your purchased plan. 

To get a proxy, click on ‘Get Proxy’ and choose either API or Usernames & Passwords Authentication from the navigation bar. I loved their tool’s interface – it’s user-friendly and intuitive. You can search for proxies by country, state, city, ZIP code, or ISP.

This is the first thing I saw straight after my Luna log-in. It says that if you provide complete enterprise certification, you’ll get 1Gb of traffic for free. That is the only option of a free trial, which many ‘smaller’ users out there actually complain about. 

It wasn’t my case, either; therefore, I instead decided to test creating sub-accounts. For that, I navigated to the ‘Sub-account’ section in the left navigation bar of my Luna account. Then I clicked to enter the sub-account management page and pressed on ‘Add Sub-account.’ Afterward, I set the sub-account’s name, password, and traffic usage limit (remember, it cannot exceed the main account’s remaining traffic). I clicked ‘OK’ to complete the setup.

Once I created the sub-account, I went to ‘Get Proxy – Account Password Extraction,’ selected the desired sub-account, and clicked ‘Copy Link.’ I opened the command prompt (cmd), pasted the copied link, and pressed Enter to test. If the test is successful, the sub-account is ready for use. And mine was on!

I also tested Luna apk, other features & functions, and all in all, their dashboard very much resembles all other dashboards of all other proxy providers I’ve ever tested and used. It’s good, really pretty good; nothing complicated, yet nothing special, either. 

Luna Customer Service

Well, it’s hard for me to write this part cause my thoughts are pretty controversial. On one hand, I didn’t have any problems with Luna Proxy download or proxy performance or whatever, and when I contacted their customer support (just to test it, you know), I got my response fairly quickly. On the other hand, there are some complaints from other users out there… 

My fav review sites, like G2 and SiteJabber, deliver no info about how good Luna online private server usage is for its clients. TrustPilot does feature 69 reviews, with the most part (52%) of 5 stars and a bit smaller part (44%) of, well, just 1 star.  

Some clients complained about too slow proxy’s response, others questioned its poor connection speed (below 1 Mbit). There were even complaints that the company passes off datacenter proxies for residential ones, mentioning how some target websites identify Octopus Web Solution Inc., a known server provider. But the biggest appeal refers to customer support: Their reply either takes too much time (48 hours or even longer) or it might not be provided at all. 

Well, I don’t know if those negative experiences really took place, as TrustPilot has long lost its trustworthiness. But even if so, in fairness, Luna Proxy replied to 95% negative reviews, most authors of which did manage to resolve refunds. The way a company addresses the negative experiences of its customers, how it communicates and resolves issues speaks volumes about it, doesn’t it? 

I just would like to repeat that I had issues neither with proxies nor with customer support of Luna-proxy. BUT if I did encounter any of them, I would’ve liked to be able to solve it as easy as it usually is with LunaProxy, while issues do happen from time to time with any proxy provider out there. 

Performance Testing

As part of my testing Luna proxies, I configured it on a browser. For enhanced security and to reduce the risk of detection, I used my antidetect browser. BTW, here’s my list of the best antidetect browsers—I compiled it some time ago yet it’s still pretty relevant and up-to-date.

So, that way, I tested proxies by streaming videos, scraping data, and gaming (yeah, my guilty pleasure!). Result? Their high-speed proxies did manage the load with minimal latency.

Speed Test Performance Chart

These are the results of my testing using the Cloudflare speed test tool. 

SpeedTest.Net, though, showed some other performance metrics:

• Dynamic Resi—40.85 Mbps download and 115.6 Mbps upload
• Static Resi—3.64 Mbps download and 102.47 Mbps upload
• Data Centers—643.1 Mbps download and 859.1 Mbps upload

However, the uptime leaves room for improvement… I think it was about 95% for most IP addresses.

I also examined Luna online private server performance via this Free Proxy Checker, and the results were pretty satisfying. Be it Lunar IPs Android or iPhone servers – they WILL comply with all your needs, confirmed. 

Luna Proxy Price Rates

All Dynamic Residential Starters include country and city-level targeting, HTTP(S) / SOCKS5 support, unlimited concurrency and bandwidth, and IP availability of 99.9%. 

If you opt for an Unlimited subscription, you’ll obviously get unlimited usage traffic and use of IP. 

Static residential plans vary by the duration (7 or 30 days) and the target region of your choice. 

The same goes for Static Datacenter proxies, although the duration period may be prolonged up to 90 days. 

As for Rotating ISP Starters, all of them contain 20+ locations, including the US, Japan, and the UK; plus, unlimited concurrent sessions, up to 12 hours of extended sessions, and IP whitelist/account mode.

Final Verdict

Okay, I’m probably not the average consumer cause I’m an expert in using proxies. That is why I’ve got perhaps the largest range of user requirements. And you know what? LunaProxy did comply with all of them. 

IP pool, Luna Proxy unblock geographical restrictions, free tools & add-ons—all good. Compatibility with all major operating systems and software—yep, there is. My performance testing results turned out to be more than satisfying. 

The only thing I’d like Luna Proxy to figure things out with is Customer Support. It was good for me, yet experiences differ for other users. I really hope they’ll sort things out cause their proxy services do deserve your attention!
